Latest Tank Update - July 2003
Here are the latest pictures of my tank. Sorry they are a bit dark. It isn't doing terrible, just have some algae issues to overcome as well as the occasional RTN events.
Here is a full view of the tank as of tonight: Here is a picture of one of the large patches of algae I am fighting in the tank ... And unfortunately a nice piece of coral showing some RTN signs ![]() ![]() |

Hi Chuck,
Tank still looks awsome even with the algae present. I hope you defeat it soon though. I can clearly see the void that you described in your previous posts and hope that the biggest loses atre behind you.

There is definately a void ... I hope things really go upward ... I think it is still too early to make those statements though

It may be too early to make statements but you got to have hope and you said that the tank seems to be on the road to recovery. Do you have any herbivors to perhaps help with that algae? I mean something besides the tangs? Foxface rabbitfish comes to mind and probably would graze it better then tangs. I think SueT got one for this purpose and was pleased with result.Just a thought Best of luck to you and the tank,Chuck.

Gene, I was just thinking Chuck needs a foxface to help with this. I was reading and you wrote it.
Chuck, I think one would help you out tremendously. They are non-algae specific. Plus they are a nice fish to have in the tank afterwards. I want to add too to have hope, stuff happens and we learn from it and we have to go on. I still could sit and look at your tank for a long time. It has gone through changes and we all hope the worst is over. My switching over to the captive frags has been a trial and error but I am hanging in and know things will regrow. Hang in there!!!!! ![]() |

I'm new here, but have to agree on the Foxface. They eat everything. I have one of them and a Hippo tang. I have no algae to speak of. When I get new LR for the bowfront, I put it in the 125 for 10 minutes and put it back in the Bow clean. It's like putting goldfish in my freshwater tanks.

Thanks ... I may try a foxface at some point. Not one of my favorite fish, so will see how that one goes. I still am having some coral RTNing, at a slower rate. I think it takes such a long time to recover. I am sure one day it will be good as new ... crossing fingers anyway
