Have to tell you this sad story but it did have a good ending. How hardy are clams? Well these 2 must have been hardyWe shipped 2 clams from San Diego to a customer in New Jersey and after arriving in Memphis, the plane was grounded due to machanical problems so the clams would not make it till the next day.
Needless to say the customer as well as myself did not sleep to well that night thinking, will they or will they not make this trip. I felt that they had a good chance, we had some routed to a wrong city one time and they arrived 52 hrs later to end up in great shape considering. We called the customer once we knew that they had been delivered and spoke with someone and she said they looked pretty good considering what they had been through. John called me hours later to tell me that they were looking a lot better.
Telling you this story, so if this ever happens to your shipment from any vendor, don't give up and do not refuse shipment!!
