Starting to Aquascape
I worked on the left side of the tank a bit this past weekend and will work on the right side next weekend. I will be replacing some of the rock on the right hand side with rock that is brewing in a trash can right now. But I am thinking the rock on the left side is starting to grow on me. I like how it jets up and back into the left hand corner. I am trying to leave the middle relatively open, but want to hide the spray bar somewhat when it is all said and done. The right side will also work upward I imagine, it will have to block the bulkhead strainer. Anyway, the right side is not complete, but the left rockwork is getting there.
![]() Here is the left side, you can see that the fish have ways to get to the back not only over the rock but behind it via those holes in the rockwork in the bottom left. There are tunnel paths to the back. ![]() ![]() ![]() ------------------ MDM ![]() |

Hi Chuck,
I like your rockscape so far How stable is this left side? I like how it looks and thinking about doing the same when I'll redo my 110.Great pics as always, btw. How do you get your blue stag to come out blue instead of purple? I can not do it for the life of me ![]()

I think that the left side looks nice. Once everything settles in and you have more corals it should look great. Now you just need to build up the right side and you should be set.
I still can't believe what happened to your tank. But as I said once things start growing it will be back to normal. Also are those all of the corals you have left from before? Ilia |

Hey Chuck!
I'm with ya, I like the look of the rock on the left side. I think it's great to keep our rock work open as much as possible so our fish can swim in and out of it and I think you've done a nice job with it. Have you performed any tests on your water since the work you guys did? Just curious if you saw any spikes of any sort. Regards, Scott Z. |

Yep, that's the remaining coral I have ... pretty crazy huh?
I hope to get moving on the rest of the rockwork this weekend. I am experiencing an algae bloom now from the last amount of work I did. So want to try to keep it going slow. I have no ammonia or nitrite spikes, just some nitrates that need to come down again. Thanks for the input guys ![]() |

Looking good Chuck! I like your new aquascaping. I still can't believe what happened to your tank. That blue stag is still awsome!
