Pictures of my 45 hex reef

Well I finally got some pics today of the 45 hex after cleaning everything out this weekend. So far so good. I was having a big brown slime problem and after reading several post on here, came to the conclusion that it was my sand bed. I cleaned everything, including the sand bed and added another bag of live sand to the tank when setting it back up. Everything looks good now. The fish are very active and the corals have extended their polyops once again. Enjoy the pics. Some are with a flash and some I tried to cover the flash as I couldn't figure out how to turn it of.

Looks great! What kind of lighting do you have over it? Typically those style tanks are hard to light unless you hang a halide pendent over them. That Clownfish is huge too!

I'm currently running 6-13 watt Pc's. 2 atinic and 4 10000K's. I started with 2-12" NO floresence and 3-18" NO florensence. Man was that hard to fit in the top. Yea the clown is the oldest one in the tank. Been in thee about 4 years now. This will all move to the 150 when I get it set up.The PC's will also go but will be all atinic's to suplement the 2-250 watt 10000K metal halides.

I'm working on it now. I'll post pics and start a thread when I get a chance. So far I have most of my equipment. I've built the framework for the stand and am setting things up in the garage to sort out all of the minor details of the tank before moving everything into the house. It will be a built in tank at our entryway from the front door. That's the only place in the house where we could find to put it. It should make for a dramtic entrance, open the front door and have a 150g reef staring you in the face.

So what your saying is the couch is going to be moved to the porch so you can sit with the front door open and watch the tank?

Sounds great and I'll be looking forward to hearing more!

Are you planning on selling your 45 hex after the transition is complete? or are you going to make it something else?

Scott,
actually I'm looking at increasing the size of the front porch so that we can put a bench and fountain out there. That way the lady can watch her fountain and I can watch the reef. Beleive it or not, I got the ok tonight that if and when I expand the house and build the second story, I get to use half of the downstairs bedroom that we will be losing to install a built in tank that will be viewable from the living room. That's 15 feet of baren wall space to put a tank in. All I need now is that third job to get the money to complete it.

Javier,
I'm not sure what i will be doing with the 45 hex once I move everything into the new tank. I may keep it as a quarintene tank. I wouldn't want to try and ship it anywhere as it's heavy but if I do decide to sell it, I'll post here first.
