Hurricane got me

Just got my power back about 2 days ago.My home made it ok no trees on it,lost my shed no big deal and all my family in this area made it pretty good most with just minor damage,I am truly thankful for that!
My reef did'nt fair as well, about the only things that made it are a couple of mushrooms and I think a trumpet might pull through. My 6-line made as did my sailfin tang and the one clown. What use to be bristle worms are still popping out the sand and to be honest I am not sure what to do about it. Today was the first day I was really able to feed what was alive.I am thinking about just breaking it all down and sitting out for a while,I can't afford to replace all that was lost.I live in a mobile home and we did not stay here, but I came back during the storm just to check on the tank and my home,I kept stirring the tank and added ammonia remover to it on a daily basis, hell I even had a straw and blew bubbles in the tank not sure if it would help or not. It's hard to look at something that I put so much work into and see just a shell that it use to be.Just needed to vent a little I guess.

I feel you!!

My tank was dessimated from teh black out! I lost all my acropora colonies to that power outage. I have rebuilt but it was a costly endeavor emotionally and financially.

But to re-state it: at least you and your family are fine.

I got two DC to AC Power inverter. Each can supply 400 W from 12V DC. I can hook both to my car to got 800W of power incase the power goes out.
I think this is very cheap way to keep our animals alive. Here in Corpus, there can be quite a few tropical storm or hurricane. He had several near missed this year so far.
Good luck with your tank.
