Things we hate

I thought it would be fun to start a thread about the things we hate or problems that occur that aggrivate us the most. An event tonight "inspired" me to post this.

I hate it when a powerhead's suction cups loose their grip and allow the powerhead to fall into the sandbed when your not looking. Obviously this caused a very nasty cloud in our tank tonight although it is nearly already clear.

Dag-Nab-It, it just happened again! Had to shut that powerhead down until I'm sure it's stuck again.

Hey Scott a little bit of superglue on the suction cup will help if you have to keep PH's in the tank

Jeff

Why not? I do it all the time and they still fall off
Seriously though, could you use some other way to hang it?I know that MJ PHeads have different bracket that you could use,it's sort of hang over the edge of the tank.

Haven't tried that one yet!

I've been using these for nearly for some time now and never have had a problem, now one want to keep falling off. I unplugged it last night and stuck it back on and it is still up. I know as soon as I turn it on it's going to fall off though. Our tank is still mucky from it.

I spend several hours to built a close loop to a cabinet net to the tank where I will keep my pump. This will decrese the heat input to the system. I use a Dolphin pump with transmit minimal amount of heat to the water but the motor can get quite hot. Anyway, this loop requires a numbers of conection even after I use flex PVC hose to decrease the number to turns. Once I hook up the pump and test it, I find out that there is an leak somewhere in the intake branch where air got suck in causing bubbles in my tank.
Now I have to try to find the leak or just redo the whole darn thing. I am using 1.5 PVC, so it is not really cheap. That wasted time just kill me.
Then I find out that I am out of PVC glue. I have to wait until tomorrow to finish the job.

Oh don't I know what your feeling there. Rememer about 8-10 months ago I was battling trying to get a closed loop set up on our tank and eventually gave up. What a nightmare!
Noisy Closed Loop

Have you found where the leak is at?

I hate it when time after time I reach into the tank to do something and accidently bump a coral and it tumbles to the bottom of the tank or break a piece off!

Guess the solution to this is to keep my hands out of the tank as much as possible! Been doing alot better! Johnny
