xenia question

Everything in my 55 reef is doing well except for my non-pulsing xenia. Its kinna shrunk up and not looking so hot. Its been about two weeks now and I don't know what to do. My salinity is a little high about 1.026 or so. But nothing else is freaked out. Any ideas??

Sometimes it just beeesss like that. I have read all too many times that people have trouble maintain Xenia while others claim it is as much of a nusiance as hair algae.

Augustus,

FWIW, I don't think your salinity/sp.gravity is high at all. I think spesific gravity of 1.026 makes it salinity of about 35 ppt, which is consistent with NSW.
If it's any consolation,I'm one of those that Scott mention that can't keep Xinia alive for any length of time.I mean I tried twice and both times the colonies had crashed after about three or four month While all the other corals have lived and grown really well for me,the Xinia just melted.

I agree with Gene! I cannot get Xiena to grow in my tank to save my soul. If it was plastic Xiena it would still melt and disappear! Simply amazing!! Johnny

That looks like a pulsing species me, if so find out what the shipping cost to Birmingham AL 35226 is and I'll give it a shot. Perhaps I'll fare better with a pulsing stalk. Like I said I'll try anything
