striped mushroom coral
I have some striped mushroom corals, but they are all bunched up on one rock. How do I, or can I spread them around the tank?

Give it some time!
Nice, I started off with 2 mushrooms on 1 rock and now they are "here and there" throughout my tank.

Hi James and DLART, Welcome to Reefland!
Given some time they will spread like wild fire throughout your tank and sometimes even become problematic by causing territory wars to occur. If you want to speed up the process mushroom corals can be propagated by slicing them in half and I have also heard that just cutting them half way across will allow them to split and form another mushroom; either way, you will not harm the mushroom long term and get anothe rmushroom out of the deal. ![]() Regards, Scott Z. |
