Trigger Fish behavior

Hi all. i have a niger trigger fish in my 55 gla tank with about 50lb of rock and CC substrate. the Trigger has been moving all of the Crushed Coral Substrate from under and around my LR> ht then dropps it on my LR , or piles it up in a huge mound on other side of tank. Is this normal? now it is just plain glass under my LR>? what should i do about it? if anything.

Well,I don't think you can do much about this. It is foraging for food and it is pretty natural behaviour of the trigger. Crustaceans been a main staple of its diet IMO,along with whatever it can crush with its teeth and get out of the shell. What do you feed it? My suggestion would be to make sure that it eats plenty and just fix the sand aound the rocks if you don't like the appearance. I had the same problem with my twin spot wrasse and my clownfish faning the heck out of the sand, sometimes all the way to the glass
I learn to live with it after a while

I'd skip the Goldfish... they are HARD to Digest, plus whens the last time you saw a goldfish in saltwater?

I'g get some Frozen Krill or Aqua Yums Squid... The trigger will definately go for those foods too...

Plus do you really want to encourage the trigger to eat "live" fish? One day he might get hungery enough to go after a clown...

Its cause the Goldfish are struggling, swimming erractically and they look like an easy target... Kind of like Pirahna's attack dead or dying fish and leave healthy ones alone...
