Smile coral ornament with algae HELP FAST

Hey guys hope i got the right section of forum for this. anyway. i am redoing my tank because algae has taken over my tank after about 3 months of adding tap water to it and neglecting it. my question is, i have a center coral piece (dead and calcified i guess you could say) for ornament with long stringy algae all over it (dont know the kind) and would like to remove it. right now its out of my tank sitting outside and i guess it will eventually die off but i need to do this by tom at the latest. so i need to get this algae off fast. the only way i know would be to spray it with bleach and water then put the piece in a de-chlorinator solution but i dont want to rist that since the coral has little holes inside etc. and i cant scrub it off as it is to brittle. so my question again, how do i remove the algae all over my coral ornament piece? thanks John

Rinse again, rinse again and then rinse again. When your playing with bleach, you can never be too safe!
