I will post pics of the monster tonight when i get home. As far as the method we used, we mixed some extra saline water and dipped the rock. This got him moving around but he wouldn't really leave the rock. He would stick about a 3rd of his body out like he was searching for someplace to go but he would not leave the rock. We ended up just holding the rock above the water and waiting for him to slither out the bottom into the water. Like Chris said, he was about 2 feet long. I got a few good pics of him before I "returned him to Mother Nature". LOL

Here he is. I will just put up thumbs of him here but you can click on the "My Gallery" link at the left and see the full size pics.

He is in a 5 gallon bucket and is about 2 feet long. Nasty!

Busted!!! I'm checking into rehab after New Years

You have to admit, though, it does look cool in its own way I really dislike snakes but for some reason I'm drawn to the seaworms

The rock that this nasty critter came in on was purchased from the Tropicorium. (I think I spelled it right)

It was a very large piece of rock, about 18 lbs. The type of rock starts with a "V" but I can't remember the proper spelling (duhh). Venuatu or something along that line.

Chris do you remeber how to spell it?

Those are gorgeous looking and I would take it so it can munch on some mushrooms but I would never consider house a Eunicid worm in my tank.
I hope Scott can post some pics of that monster.
Bristleworm Hermocide is the perfect name for those bastards. It tried killing me. Well actally it did not try killing me. I grabbed it when it was out on the sandbed. DONT EVER TRY THAT FOR YOU GUYS THAT ARE NEW LIKE I AM. Man those guys are fast!!

The dips work great. They all evacuated the rock and after I just picked out the stuff I wanted. Granted your live rock will not quite be as live as before. But time heals all wounds and my hand after a week.

If yo want something outta yor rocks try hypersalinity if that does not work go for freshwater. The sledgehammer works too if you like smaller rocks.

That will teach you not to grab something with the bristles all around

burning hands

YUP!!! That sure taught me well. It was very slow and painfull. Swollen burning itchy hands for a week. On top of everything I scratched my hands and rubbed them constantly not knowing that there were still bristles containing toxins which in turn made it all worse. What can I say. Invest in a good pair of tongs guys!! And the only thing anyone ever said to me was welcome to te world of reef keeping. Then there is a whole other story of a certain carpet anemone but I will leave that one for another day.
