how can you tell if acros are happy?

how can you tell if acros are happy?

hiya yah i am thinking of putting some acros into my tank but i have been wondering how you can tell if they are okay in there, as its easy with soft corals as they shrivel up or the polyps go away, but is this the same with acros?

if so could someone please show me a picture of this, and are all acros the same in this way?

thanx andrew

I edited the pic and made it larger to show the detail. The polyps are the fuzzy things all over the coral. With good circulation they should be out most of the day, only retraxcting when disturbed (bumped with your hand, fish, etc) When they start to come out varies but most corals I have, the polyps came out in 1 or 2 days. I wouldn't worry to much if they don't come out right away. All corals are different and some have much greater polyp extension then others. In fact I have more then one frag from the exact same coral in the same tank and sometimes one coral is extending and not the other.
