depth under water for acro with 250watt?
yeah i am thinking about getting an acro frag and was wondering what depth under the water the acro could be kept in under 250watt metal halides? and what should the water turnover be? and what would your ideal parameters be for the acro? thanx andrew |

The best thing to do is to try and match the tank the coral is in now. That being said, 250W bulbs are good to a depth of 24" with the light about 9" above the water. If the lighting is unknown from where the coral originates place it near the bottom and move it up every 10 days or so until you reach the location you prefer. It can take up to 6 months for a wild coral to achieve its final color. The color can change if you change bulbs, bulb color temperature, or intensity.
HTH, Kevin
