Question Are Flower pots hardy?

Are flower pot corals pretty hardy and easy to maintain? I'm looking at that or maybe a torch or anchor. Any suggestions? Thanks!

They are, for the most part, impossible. They are very beautiful corals and that drives a lot of attention to them but they will rarily live for any amount of time in captivity. The Anchor or Torch coral would be a much better option.

Thanks for the replies, I don't think I'm quite ready for a 10 on the difficulty scale. Are brains about the same as torch and anchor. I'm thinking maybe a open or swollen would be nice or maybe frogspawn... too many choices... Thanks again!

Brain, Anchor and Torch corals are pretty good and hardy corals so long as your tank is established. As with any LPS coral, look for any infections of signs of tissue loss before the purchase and watch them very closely for the first few weeks while adapting to their new home. If you go with a Torch or Anchor coral, be sure to give it plenty of space.

Scott Z.

Yup even the most seasoned hobbyist is shy when comes to Flower pots... I have never purchased one myself, I'll let someone else flush the 40-50 dollars down the toilet!!!

Hmm...hardy......no, no, and no. And again...NO!

Hehe, made my mistake of buying it for about what Poseidon said at a PetCo...as my first coral. Although it gave me much viewing pleasure, witht he asexual reproduction of two coral colonies, they all died soon thereafter. I do NOT suggest this coral for a first coral...
