what levels for these sps's?

hey guys

I have some frags that have been in my system for about a week now. I ahve had them at the bottum of my tank. Now I am ready to move them up and I am not sure exactly where to move them.
I have
green slimmer acro
acro formosa
monti hipida
monti sp
hydnophora
birdsnest
millepora
firecoral

I ahve a 250watt 12000 k bulb now with jbj and no flourecents. I thought that I would get the frags before getting my three 400watt xm 20,000 k bulbs for christmas. Where should I put the frags, will they be fine until the end of the month, what should I do with them placement wise.

thanks

Jeff

Jeff, if you are acclimating these frags to your current lighting and want to move them up, then they are going to have to be reacclimated to the new lighting you're getting for Christmas time. That may mean moving them back down. I would leave them as is til you have the new lighting and after acclimation then move them to their permanent postions. Just make sure they are getting enough lighting to survive til the new lights.

As far as placement the yongei{Bali green slimer} and formosa stags can be about anywhere and do well. Montipora hispida is a plating montipora. Is this the montipora you mean?? Is it a bright green?? That may need more lighting. On the montipora spp. I have no idea what it is so I can't offer any ideas on placement. If it is a plating montipora or the digitata they can be medium lighting. Hydnopora will definitely have to be isolated due to the sweeper tentacles that can extend and sting and kill anything coral near it. It's own little place distant will be best. Birdsnest or seriatopora IME, needs high lighting intense flow to keep algae from starting on the tips. Once that happens it is hard tokeep the coral from being covered with the algae. If you mean acropora millepora then that is another acropora species that needs high current and depending on coloration the higher the more intense.

I have never kept firecoral so I can't help you out there.

With current for all the above mentioned sps corals, I would give them good alternating flow.
