I love Canon, but maybe the G5 is not right for the Macro shots you are so good at and night shots you are so eager to get.

Maybe the Sony 717 or 707 would be a better choice as they have excellent night focusing abilities. The drawback, Memory Stick is slightly more money then Compact Flash, and some would argue not as stable....

Mike,

The reason I don't like Sony's is the interface problems with that memory sticks.I like flash cards(prices) and ease of transfer to my PC from Camera.
I'll have to think about Canon for a while,perhaps it is not the camera I want/need after all. Digital Rebel sounds like a great camera but I don't think members of my Family like me that much
