Here is one idea; A Whole Lot of Luck!

I think the most successful sure bet way is to find him in the rock and remove the rock for a quick dipping to drive the crab out. I know this is a pain, especially if the crabs favorite rock is buried under the rest of the structure but this is one sure way to get it out.

Make that only realistic way....

You could try and bait him out... But that takes FOREVER and it is not guarenteed... You could also try the Skewer approach. Drive him into a whole then chase him with a pointy Coat hanger!!!

Crabbing

I am always finding different unwanted critters in my setups mainly small mud crabs and rock crabs and hopefully i have caught my last mantis . What i do is i locate the crab and bait him out with some fish in a little bit of stocking (unbleached and not dyed) this way he cant scam a feed out of it. What i do exactly is cut a little bit from the end of a stocking put in some bait and a small rock so it can sink tie a bit of light mono line to the end and if you can spot him place it near him and he Will come out and start to try for all he is worth to get at the fish once hes occupied getting at it slowly lift him up and place a net underneath and presto you have your crab.Ive used this method on 3 occasions and worked great.
