Got 9 for $99

Hi all.....been a while since i posted.....ive been really busy at school so thats why i have been so lax w/ my posting. but just thought id pop in since im on my winter break until the 12th then its back to the grind. I got bored the other day and re-did my aquascaping in my 45g. It was in a "m" shape now ive kinda just stacked it all into a cluster and i kinda like it like this.....nice for a change. and i decided to take some of the money i got from my bday this month and get the 9 for 99 at jeffs.....its gonna be coming in on tuesday. I got 2 brains, 1 xenia (non pulsing), and a bunch of different leathers and a few other softies and tongue coral....looking forward to getting them. Im going to TRY and get some pics of them and just have walmart toss the pics on a cd so i can finally give you guys and girls a look at what ive been playing with. my tanks nothing like you guys' beautiful sps tanks, rather its a softie dominated tank.....i just havent had the opportunity to pull the money together for some mh but my 4X96 pc's work pretty well for me. my hammer would tend to agree i think. every time i come home it seems bigger. the dang thing takes up 1/4th of the tank. down at school i have a 20L which is just a FO tank w/ a little dwarf lion and a few damsels. hope everyones doing well. i'll be around for a few more days so ill make sure to try and stay in touch but....the girlfriend keeps me on a short leash so im not on as much as i used to obviously.

Hey guys nice to be back and see im remembered i got my shipment in today....kind of....last night they called me and told me 2 of the corals i wanted (devils hand and a finger leather) were not in and i would need to substitute so i called 'em back and intended on getting a piece of montipora as a substitute ....unfortunately no montiporas were in stock.....and i also found out my christmas tree worms were unavailable as well so i ended up ordering some thin bar xenia, bubble coral and a flower pot coral. that along w/ an assortment of other stuff...long story short 3 of my corals and a few other things didnt arrive w/ everyone today so i called up jeff's and they were very appologetic and told me id have it tomorrow so i have no hard feelings about it. the stuff i got looks pretty good. but since illinois is rather cold right now some of the corals didnt look so hot when i received them but it looks like they are bouncing back. the flower pots water was milk.....i had no clue what was in it but i did the acclimation thing and it looks as if some of the polyps are shooting out a touch so looks pretty promising but i was assured they would be on the gaurentee still so they are taking care of me. i have one of those disposable-digi-cameras so im going to snap a few pics tonite and then tomorrow when the brains and xenia gets here and ill go to walmart and get it developed and post some pics finally. i already snapped a few pics of all of my tanks so i may need w/ posting pics this week.

Well got the last of my shipment today (2 brains and xenia) they sent me the wrong kind of xenia but i wasnt charged for the upgrade so i didnt bother complaining. the brains look pretty nice though. one is much brighter than the other (green) but the other definitely is bigger so i got a nice selection. overall im happy w/ my order from them, the flower pot coral definitely kicked the bucket today but they gave me the warranty on it. i cant complain they did everything they could to make things square w/ me so thumbs up. i decided i wanted the brains up higher in the tank so i nabbed a few pieces of lr. out of my lionfish tank so the pics i took have the aquascaping changing im sure. im going to go take them in to get developed and then i will finally have some pics posted so long as they come out....even if they look crappy ill just post a few so you can get a sneak peak at the very least.

Hey guys,

i am reading this post on ordering corals and getting them shipped. I was just wondering if you guys can recommend a reputable place, website, or private company that does this well. My local fish store charges upwards of $50 for a nice coral and I would like to look for alternatives (this 9 for 99 sounds fantastic) Any info would be great. Thanks.

If you go to www.exoticfish.com you can take a look at the 9 for $99 deal....there is a list of corals that you have to pick from mostly zoos, shrooms, and other hardy corals. i think its a great deal for what i got. the only thing is you have to pay the shipping which kinda costed me since i live in illinois ($60) its out of cali.....another place ive ordered from is www.liveaquaria.com (Dr Foster and Smith which was aka ffexpress.com) i had a good experience w/ them as well but their coral packs are a bit more expensive and you dont get to choose your coral pack and you dont get as many in some cases. those are the only two ive ordered from online. hope that helps.
