Mike. The picture and the tank looks great. Which ?Canon camera do you use? I got a Canon 35mm camera also, but find that for tank picture a good digital works best.

Next on the list is a 17-40 F4.0L that will get me the wide angle I lack right now, on the 10D it works out to about 28-66mm because of the 1.6X Crop factor. On the DSLR's the image sensor is smaller then a 35mm frame, so all my lens either "appear" to get closer or simply crop the borders, depending on your glass is half full or empty view!! I'm going to try a few picture's using multiple flashes, but I'm still limited by my close focus abilities, these pictures were taken from more then 5ft away from the glass!!! And Scuba that Hammer is HUGE!!!! it has 19 heads on it now, when I bought it, there was 2!!! It measures about 7.5" X 6" wide, when it is all closed up!!! ![]() |

Sweet shots,Mike
![]() I know you have a great camera but something must be said about the hands that hold it and the eye that sees the subjects Great job, dude!I have a poor's man camera CP-885 but for my needs it is just fine, after I bought the tripod I could notice the difference in the focusing. I would love to try one of this DSLR cameras but I don't think I'd know what to do with it Minh, don't be so modest, your pics are fantastic as well ![]()

Man you guys think you;ve got something, it don't hold anything against our Kodak digi! Point, click upload and share and that will be made a heck of a lot easier when we get the Easy Dock.
![]() Really, I don't know anything about camera's but what you guys are talking about sounds like you can spend more on the camera than the tank. For anyone looking for a nice, simple camera that can take decent pictures, look at the Kodak's. ![]() |

Thanks,Mike
![]() The reason I bought the coolpix is becouse it had a good macro capabilities and it was cheep,I think I spent somewhere around 400 bucks for it. ![]() And,Like Scott said, it's basically point and shoot once you get familiar with it. But, it can not be compared to the shots I've seen from your camera...the colors, clarity and depth of field...I just can't get those with my el cheepo cam. ![]()

I just can't get that close yet!!! I can enlarge an area, to a point of course but I want to be able to get down to 4-6" range, right now, I'm at 15-18 with my 28-135 and 5Ft with my 70-200... So I have a ways to go!!!
This is a crop of my CApanella... About 200% I think |

I can only get good close up on corals right in ther front of the tank. I can't zoom in on the coral in the back very well. Minh

Yup thats why I don't post them...
Maybe if I were to close the lens a little and use a tripod I know I can get better depth of field that way.... I'll have some more tinkering to do!!! |

Mike,
I love the trigger shot I think the bluriness comes from our screen resolution and not becouse your shot was blurry,at least that is what I think Minh, that is some nice camera work, very crisp pictures ![]() I usually shoot from about 4-5" away from the glass becouse the tripod won't let me come any closer but before I just used to press lens right up against the glass and focus with macro mode on.I hate using zoom feature as I think it degrades quality. Here's a shot I took today as well hoping to have a dicent depth of field but I think it bummed out ![]()
