Opistognathus aurifrons the Pearly Jawfish

Last weekend, I got a very thin pearly Jawfish from a LFS in Houston. He was thin from lack of feeding but otherwise seem OK. I asked the store ownder to feed him, he ate verywell, so I bought him. This is the first time I attempted to keep this fish. I am really wish I did this earlyer because this is one neat fish. It is very beautiful with a yellow head and light pearly irredesent blue body and fins. The blue cast irredesant color of the body cannot be capture well by the camera. He is still very thin but seem to be gainning weight with feeding.
I choose this fish as oppost to the other jawfish because they are docile and can be keep in group. The LFS in Houston have few choices interm of fish and corals over the holidays. I wanted 3 or 4 but ended up with just one. I will get more when I find them.
If anybody consider adding a few more fish into their tank, really consider this fish. They are neat little creature. Picture to come when my little fish regain his health.
One caution regarding this fish is that may jump out of the aquarium the first night when they have not establish a home yet.

It's not just when they're new, Minh! They'll jump even after they are established. I had one carpet surf like 9 months after I got it.

You MUST get some more when you get the opportunity. They are SO much more fun to watch when they interact. And they aren't picky eaters -- anything meaty is fine by them. They are a bit on the shy side though at first -- I had to squirt their food near their burrow w a turkey baster at first.

POST PICS!
