refugium
i am fighting a bad hair algae problem right now. my clean up crew is doing a pretty good job. i want to add a refugium. will this help or should i wait until all or most of the algae is gone? thanks

it all depends really please tell us more about your setup. Lights, Time the lights are on, What type of water are you using and so forth. Any one of these factors will make hair algea worse.

No matter what the other parameters are, a refugium WILL help. Anytime you can export nutrients to another location it keeps the algae from growing in the main tank!!!

I agree, a refugium will help eliminate the bad algae. Be sure to have macro in the fuge to help in this regard.

A year ago I also had a bad hair algae problem. When I set up my first fuge, the hair moved in also and wiped out (choked) all the macros. Turned into a big mess.
