I have a 5ftx2ft tank, I introduced a new blue tang to my tank which lasted less than a week after getting ich, I think he may already have had the start of it when I bought him. One of my 2 clowns contracted it while the tang was still alive. I have medicated the tank with Marine oodinuium and white spot remedy active ingredients
Quinene Hydrochoride and Malachite Green for the recommended 4 days, but this hasn't made a difference to the spots on my clown, he is the only one in the tank so far with it, besides the original host that died. I bought an extra anemone for him because I heard they help to clean the Ich off the clowns, but the larger clown has taken over both and won't let him in.
I gave them the last of the 4 day medication yesterday, but am unsure as to
whether or not I can repeat the treatment again without harming the fish,
coral and anemones. The tank is too large and has too many hiding spots to catch him for a fresh water dip and I do not have a quarantine tank at this stage. The tank has been set up for about 5 months and water quality is perfect after testing.
The tank right now has: 2 Humbugs, 2 Tomato clownfish, 4 blue cromies, 2 starfish, 2 anemones, 1 brain coral.
