i'm cheap

I live in the fabulous state of Kansas. We have limestone rock coming out our ears here. Since live rock is limestone, could I "cure" and then seed some plain old limestone and use it for my tank. Has anyon tried this?

Lime stone fdo not have the porous quality of live rock. It would just displace the water. Good for structures but not good as a filter media.

Thanks Minh. do you think that coralinne will grow on "earth" limestone? and as long as I have enough other bio media, then this shouldn't be a problem should it?

Coraline will grow on anything, plastic rock, even on Sea grass blades.
