Biorb media like live rock?

Hi all, i was in my LFS today and saw the Biorb and the media you can buy for it



Hi all, i was in my LFS today and saw the Biorb and the media you can buy for it

and it said "Extra ceramic media can be added to your Reef One aquarium. This will increase the area available for biological filtration and makes it easier to anchor plants into position.

The ceramic media should not need to be replaced, but if you wish to change the media you should do so gradually, in stages, and not all at once. Changing the media gradually allows the existing filter bacteria to move across and colonise the new media from the old".

I thought this stuff looks very like crushed up live rock, and was wondering if any of you guys have seen it and what you thought of it? Also would it be good to put in the sump, as would it act like live rock in the end?
