It's hard to say just by looking at the picture,Andrew. It's a bit out of focus but I think it could be a snail Stomatella varia. How is it behaving,ie. retracts into a hole/crevice, moves slowly,is it segmented or smooth?
Whats this monster?
I noticed this the other day when it was blowing out some fine particles into the water, dont know if it was eating or something, and then isaw it again and was wondering whether it is a good or a bad thing?

yeah moves very slowly and its always in holes and crevices and never in the light, and looks like a snail, so i reckon its the stom....... thing, is it good or bad for the tank?
It is great. Black is an unusual color for this type of sails. I put two black ones in my tank and end-up with black to tan Stomatella varia snails.Originally Posted by Pomme

i thought the Stomatellas were very small, about the size of a bee-bee. i've got hundreds of these in my tank.
