My friend has a 180 with a 100g sump/sandbed. He can run the turf scrubber on there. It dwarfs my tank and is in the way. I must have banged my head three times on it yesterday.

The screened pipe is just the intake on a powerfilter. It will be removed eventually. The overflow is the large 11/2 in. pipe. I built a neat cage on top. Had the normal type overflow wall on it, but never liked it.

I gots some corals. Picked them up from my friends tank, where they have been for some time. Besides my 10yr. old cup coral, thats recovering, there is some grren & brown digita, a couple of caps, my pair of maxima clams, {one more to come}, and the nice acro on top.

Wanna see a 400w Radium compared with a 400w Iwaski.

Boy that is a HUGE difference. Are you pleased with the results from the new Radium?

Yuk... To bad you can't have BOTH!!! I think that would be a great combo. MAybe when I get home I'll layer the 2 together.. Too bad it's not that simple on you tank huh?

FWIW I really think the Iwasaki is too YELLOW and the Radium Too BLUE!!!

Yes, I like the Radium, for now. I will give it a fair chance powered with the pulse start, to give the corals some decent growth and colour. Its not as blue to our eyes, as the camera.

Mike, on my 225, I ran two of the same Radium combos, with the Iwaski in the middle and it was pretty good. To bad the intensity and longevity of the Iwasaki, along with the colour of the Radium, came from one bulb. Only in our dreams.

Well looks like the camera was not quite in the same place for both pictures, but I still combined the 2 pictures and layered then 50/50, so this image is 50% radium 50% Iwasaki... OUR DREAM BULB!!!

They were not even on the same day.

Thats cool. Now there is a perfect colour. Great job. I,m going to find a bulb that matches that.

However, if you follow the "waste of electricity" thread on RC, one would think my Radium is more than enough.

Just though I would give a fitting end to this thread, cause I gonna start another.

After going from a 225 to this tank, I almost lost interest in aquariums for the first time in 30yrs. I took the tank down and sold it. Much of my corals & fish reside in my friends 180. Some of the corals, my wrasses and 2yr. old fat mandarin, reside in a 55g ----40g rubbermaid tub system, connected together.

So that the end of this thread. Look for the new one.
