firefish!!!
!!! Firefish !!!
i'm thinking about adding a fire fish to my 90.. i've did a search and noticed that this fish will jump when spooked and what not.. what is your guy's take on it?... do u guys cover your tank and what not? i'm planning to just let it go w/o covering anything.. do they jump only when they spook? or are they just like that ocassionally? i've kept one a while back and all it ever did was surf the currents, but i didn't keep it long enough to really know how it is and what not because of a tank crash.. anyways whats your guys take? planning on getting the orange one... how long do they live? and what's a good sign of one? anythign to look out for? sorry for so much questions, thanks for listening, just wanted to make sure i know this fish more before buying it again, i miss it a lot... it was alien like when it moved its dorsal hehe |

They Jump just for the heck of it I think.... Also they do better in small schools when there is more then one they spook less frequently. I'd also suggest doing a search on them B4 buying..

I have 3 scissor tail gobies (they are the same family). There isn't much different between the orange and the purple. They all do well in small schools. Very peaceful. Shy around aggressive tank mates, so you have to be careful about what you keep them with (they will jump when spooked a lot more easily if they are with boisterous fish). They do jump (although mine have never...). They like to sleep in the sand/rock crevices at night. Very pretty fish. They eat anything meaty you give them (blood worms, krill, scallop, squid, formula A, Formula One are what mine eat).
