Are there any threads pn converting from CC to bare bottom?

You might take a look at this post and get some ideas:
swapping crushed coral for southdown sand. I think the safest way to do it would be to remove everything from your tank (liverock, fish and corals) and move them to a temporary container, a rubbermaid container would work fine. Place a heater in it, a power head or 2 and remove water from your tank into this container. From here, your ready to remove the rest of the water from your tank, remove all the CC, fill the tank up with new saltwater (minus room for the water your animals are currently sitting in) put the water and livestock from the holding tub back into the tank. ![]() Scott Z. |

AND make sure to Schedule the WHOLE day for that task... I did it on my 55 went from a shell base to sand and it took FOREVER!!!
