Removing bioballs

ok I know this is a continuation of an earlier thread but a new title may get some attention So I have been taking out my bioballs as recommended and two consecutive tests are showing rising NO3 levels. Yesterday was 40 ppm and today is a little higher. Do I need to be concerened or should this quickly come back into line?

The bio-balls I don't beleive will contain any denitrifying bacteria (I may be wrong). I would slow down the removal process and give more time for the bacteria populations to rejuvinate in the tank in between removing them. You may also consider removing less at each time.

I agree with Scott.Take it slowly,I removed about a handfull every four to five days when I was doing this and never had NO3 rise.Took me a bit long but it is better to be patient in this situation. Those bioballs do have lots of bacteria and like Scott mentioned, you need to give bacteria some time to multiply/rejuvenate inside the tank.
