Well my services for my colleges Marine tanks has been moved up to the newly donated 180g tank. its a RR tank and well plumbed. There is a RO unit connected above the 55g sump so all i have to do for top off is turn a switch and the tank is topped in about 10 sec. there is a bunch of live rock about a 5in sand bed and a 1in cc on top. there are a few nice toadstools ranging in size from medium to ginormous there are some rock anemones (bright green/yellow) mushrooms, blastomussa (sp?), candy cane corals, plate coral, open brain, some sps which are ifffy due to lighting, green tip shrooms, white polyps, green polyps and some others that im forgetting at the point. other inhabs include a perc. clown, a fairy wrasse whos colors need work he/shes a little pale i think, 3 green chromis and a coral beauty. also a coral banded shrimp and a serpant star i spotted today. like i said lighting is a little soft there is 2 smart lamp hoods above the tank but we're working on getting metal halide/power compact combination lighting. its just a matter of getting the grant for the lights. i wish it was that easy to get new lighting on my tank....just write a grant to the parents or my girlfriend i guess there is also a collection in the bio dept. because people are wanting a jawfish and few other fish but in my opinion we need some herbivores in there because i saw some hair algae and we need to get rid of some of these aptasia anems i spotted as well. in other unrelated news i switched my major today from straight bio/teacher certification to environmental biology. partially because of my mathmatical handicap but mostly because i just lost my drive to want to teach id rather be doing hands on stuff at say a hatchery or preserve or something a bit more physical. i wont hardly miss a step either as far as graduation timing. pretty excited about that as well.
