hopefully those links work, but if they dont just let me know. i just wanted to say a few things also. distilled water bought at walmart in 1gal jugs should be fine for my tank right? also, about the protien skimmer, will it be okay to let the skimmer run all day and shut it off everynight?, *when i actually have fish in there*(so i can get some sleep, haha).

Nope those links don't work...
Try and attach them using the manage attachments button below... Instead of "hotlinking" that way we can see your progress!!
alright i finally got the pics up!, the first pic is the tank before any water is in it, on the stand i built. second pic- cpr bak pak, third pic- live rock in aquarium(still cloudy), fourth pic- all the cr*p my skimmer took out in ONE day, fifth- ALL CLOUDY
heres just another picture i took of the live rock(its a little clearer), also a pic showing SEVERAL jugs of water i used, and my dog, but the funny thing is i probably ended up using double the amount of jugs seen in the pic to actually fill the tank up
, also another pic showing the first 5gallons i put into my tank.
What is the lamp doing in the water!!! Get the lamp out of the water quick.![]()
Is that a Jack Russell Terrier?

nice to see it set up, congrats. take the lamp outta the water though. ha. so whats the plan you have in mind? reef? fowlr? lights? too many questions? anyway, nice job on the tank. keep posted with the progress.
leddy
haha it does look like the lights in the tank doesnt it, and yea it is a jack russel terrier, her names scout. and about the tank, im planning on making it a reef, but keeping a reef might become a little too expensive... so im not really sure yet, right now ill just be waiting untill it fully cycles.
i have 20lbs of live rock, and 10lbs of live sand mixed with argonite, how long do you think this will take to cycle? or, is there a chance that there wont be a cycle at all?
i took a couple more pics of my tank in progress.
pic1-the tank is finally starting to clear up A LOT, i cleaned the rock with the power head, and i got most of the white particles off.
pic2-FOAM ACTION
about that dull looking stand i built...im planning on gueling panels to the right and left side, and making doors in the front. ill post some pics when finished with that project.
It will cycle. It may take anywhere from several days to several weeks to complete the initial cycle. Don't forget to go out today and buy a heater for that tank.
Ninong
oh alright, and dont worry i havent forgotten, im gunna go today to pick up a heater, a thermometer, can you think of anything else i need?
Sooner or later you will need test kits.Originally Posted by Reefer769

Looking good.... MUCH Better then the 10 gallon huh?
yea a lot better, but about the 10gal, one of my clowns is just kind of laying at the bottom, still sims around sometimes, and looks very alive, what could be wrong? maybe it layed eggs, and it protecting them? i have no idea, and im starting to get worried.
Don't know, I doubt it layed eggs unless you can see them. Is there anything else in the tank that might have stressed it out? Remember to take your time with the 30 gallon. DO NOT rush it, and you will be much more successful. Did you read Ninongs tank in progress thread? You'll notice his tank was up and running quite a while before he even put the live rock in....
yea i read parts of it, i dunno maybe the other clown injured it, becuase sometimes the "healthy looking one" nips at the other, it doesnt seem harmful though. oh dont worry i will wait 2 months with the 30gal if i have to![]()
Cool... Patience really is important, and it is also the HARDEST part. I would just let the clowns be, maybe they will work it out themselves.
ok thanks for the help.
alright, i picked up my heater today, and heres a pic of it in action. also i hooked up a little switch to the cord of the protein skimmer, so now i dont have to go under the stand to un plug it, i just have to flip a switch and its off.
