i'd try to get the pH up to about 8.2 or 8.3. There are many products that will increase your pH, I use Proper pH 8.2, but there are others out there.

I would use Baking Soda. Mix about a tablespoon in a glass of fresh water and add it slowly to the tank. You have to be careful because it can raise your pH to much if yu put in a lot. But it is BY FAR teh cheapest way to raise your pH. You can also use Sea Chem Marine Buffer. THat one is "safer" because it won't over do it so easy.

Yup... thats what I said. Make sure to add SLOWLY!!! Add maybe 1/2 a cup wait an hour then test. If needed added other 1/2 wait an hour and test again.... Before you do this though, since your tank is SO NEW wait a day or so and see if it comes up on its own.

Most salt mixes will bring your water to the proper pH, what kind of salt are you using?

NOOOO, who cares what the PH is right now, you just set the tank up. Don't go adding a bunch junk that's not needed. let the tank run through the cycle and then start thinking about PH. You might want to check your ALK too. If the ALK is good then a low PH readding really isn't bad.

I'm glad you agree Golfish... As I was reading my post I remembered how new it is, I think it is best to just let it run.
