need help w/ ebay ro/di

hey everyone..

im a newbie at ro/di.. i just bought an ebay ro/di unit to try, due to my budget, i decided to give it a go...

i have a few questions regarding setting it up, because my first (rushed) attempt didn't work so well.. the hoses seem loose, is there a way to attach them more fittingly? instead of slipping them in?.. i am doing the faucet adapter, portable method..

i'm not even sure i connected them corret.. i know of the in hose, and the drain and water out.. that's all..
there's a loose house coming out of the 3rd stage, and i connected it to the 4th i believe..
the problem is water pressure is pushing the hose, and splattering water.. i believe it is due to too strong of a water ??..

what could the problem be?.. or did i mess up w/ the hoses??

thanks..

What kind of fittings are the lines connected to? The John Guest fittings should hold the lines tightly; all you need to do is push them in good.

Also the plastic lines should have a little insert in the end of them to keep them from collapsing when you tighten them down. What brand of filter is it?

ya.. i wonder what those fittings are... i have to go buy some?? home depot??? i think the brand is filters direct?..

it came in as colored tubings, needing me to manually connect to some of the connections, but higher pressures breaks the tubing and water splatters, so i'm guessing the lines aren't able to with hold (due to their looseness) the connection..

If it is a filter direct model Call Oscar 888-633-7972 (9am to 5pm PST) He helped me when I bought a filter from them . The filters are guaranteed so I would give him a call .

That's what I am wondering, what kind of fittings are you connecting the lines to? The John Guest fittings should be plenty strong enough to hold the lines in. You might try to remove the lines, cut the last 1/2" or so from it and try to re-insert it again.
