Acro bleached!!!
Acro bleached!!!
I recently got a new acro frag, but over night it bleached, and has now started to grow algae on it so has died . ![]() but i was thinking could i get a frag off one of my colonies and super glue it onto one of the branches of this frag, and let it grow on, as wont it encrust over the frag and take the same form as it? Just wondering as the frag has a really nice shape to it. I am very gutted about the frag as it was really nice white with blue tips, i think i put it up to near the light to quickly. |

The acro looks to have RTN'd over night, not bleached. In RTN the tissue rapidly falls off the coral, after which it is dead. In bleaching, the coral expell it's zooxanthellae, but tissue and polyps are still intact and most times the coral can recover.
Most likely if you glue another coral on the frag it will not take it's shape. The shape of the mounting structure has nothing to do with the ultimate form of growth for the coral. HTH -Joe |
