2 New Fishies!!!!

Well I added this little guy last week, and he is doing very well....

And I added this guy today, I took 3 frags of Galaxia, and 2 frags of Hammer to a LFS and traded even up for him. So my cost: ZIP ZERO NADA!!!

I figured since I already have a Trigger in there, why not a nice Angel? I have seen these kept in several other reef systems. Why not mine? I already know I can't keep a clam so that is not a limiting factor. He sure is cool looking huh? My wife was with me at the time and said boy I would never spend $90.00 on a fish!!! Well we didn't we got him for almost FREE. (I figure the corals did EAT before i fragged them... LOL)

looks good. I made a beginners mistake when I bought one of those spotted madarins 2 weeks after i set up my first tank. at the time, i didn't have any LR, and you can probly tell i had no clue to what i was doing. he lasted about 2 weeks, before i found him dead. Thats when i decided to spend my money on books, not fish. they are cool little fishes though, great for reefs from what i hear. anyway, looking good, i'm sure they'll love your tank.

Well here is an update...

Angel has been missing in action for 4 days now. I think he is no longer with us, however I can NOT find the body anywhere, I haven't seen a spike in NH3 either. I tested that last night.

The mandarin however is doing great. He is out and about, picking at the rock and sandbed. Hopefully he gets nice and FAT!!!

Majestic angle can be really shy. he can hide in the rocks for quite a while.
Check your overflow box and sump.
Did he eat when he was in your tank. If he did, it is unlikey that he died. Did he look sick the last time you see him?

Thanks for the reply Minh, I did not see him eat. Like you said he was very shy. I looked all over and he is not in my overflow or sump, but I would think if he is still alive I would have seen him by now. If he Pops up OKAY I will be amazed.

Well I am AMAZED!!!

My wife found him last night, and he is still alive, badly beaten up though. I moved him from my main tank to the sump, refugium area. Hopefully he can makes a full recovery down there.

Good news. Hope he makes a quick recovery for you. Do you know what beat him up? This is one of the most beautiful aquarium fish species IMO.

Thanks Penguin, I like them alot too... I think my Yellow tang is to blame. He was harassing him pretty good before he went MIA. Weird too, cause my Yellow has been a first class fish, never had a problem before.

that's a gorgeous angel. hopefully it'll recover just fine. i myself had gotten a spotted manderan a couple month ago & i just love thier quiky personality.what kind of trigger do you have? i had a niger that i had in my fish only tank and was thinking of getting an angel like yours to share quaters with. do you think that would be wise in a 75 gallon?
