Starting to see a possible overtake of hair algae
I was looking in our tank yesterday to see hair algae starting to grow on several different rocks. I have already had to tear this aquarium down once before because of this. Is there anything that i can do to stop it from taking over?

I'm sorry, I just couldn't find any hair algae in that picture. However, if indeed you see it growing, it is an indication of some nutrients build up in the system.Perhaps your exportation/filtration part of the system needs to be looked at and re-evaluated. Perhaps some havier skimming and maybe addition of refugium with some other algae in it might help.As it grows you can harvest part of it and discard together with the nutrients that were uptaken by it. Just a thought on my part. You can get some herbivorous fish to help along but it won't solve the main problem.
Anyhow, I think a bit more information about your set up and feeding regime might help the membership to pin down the problem.
