Jon,

Why don't you email Marc(melev), the owner of that website and ask him? He's pretty nice guy and would help you out on that.I'm not sure how he done that set up, but I'm thinking that most of the piping had been glued together using pvc cement and a primer.I think after rinsing and checking for leaks you should be fine to go. I'm not quite sure where is your concern?

Jon,

PVC primer and cement is fine to use as long as you give it plenty of time to dry before trying to use it on the system.

so on joints like on a elbow or a nipple or a cap is it alright to use joint compound or should we use pipe tape? the reason i ask is because the joint compound stays fairly like a paste it never solidifies.

Well Im home for easter and my dad finished assembling the scwd....we are optimistic on how itll work out but were going to test it outside first in a rubbermade to make sure it doesnt have any leaks or anything. How long should I let the pipes dry/cure? i figured around 24 hrs would be a safe bet, would i be correct? I took a bunch of pix w/ the camera so as soon as we finish off the roll, which will probably be the end of the week because my newest niece is coming down so my parents will play the role of the paparazi, I'll post some pix and a list of materials and a final price tag. we've got several pix of it as it comes together and then the final shot from a few different angles. My only concern as of right now is that the pump will be stronger than I anticipate.

Hey Jon!

Looking forward to reading your experiences. 24 hours for the PVC glue will be plenty.

He made a how to build link. I am in the process of putting one together myself.
