Rock help

Just installed new 125 this weekend. I need to fill it with rock. Where is the best place on-line to get live rock? PRECURED, good quality, good service, good price. Thank you, KTCF

Hey Krusty

There are plenty of nice well known places to buy LR off the net. Sponsors of reefland are a good place to start and to name a few others.

premiumaquatics.com
harboraquatics.com

Alot of it has alot to do with what each vendor has in stock or some of the vendors you can get special order stuff (may have to wait a little longer though) I personally would go with nothing but pacific rock and not opt for any cultured gulf rock as it seems more dense which actually makes you pay more for what you dont want!?! Getting precured is nice but dont ride on that statement too much as you will likely have more die off from transit to you.

I know some vendors like Joy @ harboraquatics sells the raw fiji rock cured and precured and it has tons of life on it as it doesnt get stripped before transhipping occurs. You also might want to do searches on different types of rock and look at alot of pictures. There are many types of LR on the market Kaelini, buna spiney, namoli, tonga branch, tonga slab, and the new pukani rock is looking nice too.

I have decided to go with the Kaelini myself. As mentioned, there are a few places in addition to our sponsors; I will add www.palmettoreefs.com as one.

I have to have fully cured (can't really afford any die-off in transit) so I opted to get a local supplier to order me some Kaelini and will allow it to cure in his system before I take it.
