Reefer769,

I sure does bite when you get outbid like that.

If your seller has another one and is willing to sell it for the same price, save your self the grief of loosing it and make a side deal with him..

Other wise they might be able to make it a private auction that only select users can bid on( if they are intent of selling it on ebay)

Hope you get your MH..

Nick

thanks, im not sure how we could do a side deal though, ebay if the safest way to know for sure he will get the $$ and i will get the fixture. so if you could tell me a little more about this side deal thing i will consider it, and it was my idea to do ebay in the first place, so if there is a better/guaranteed way of me getting the MH then please tell me. thanks

I would then have your seller list the item using a BuyItNow for the amount you have agreed on... then have them email ASAP when they list the item. all you have to do is go to the item click the BuyItNow and Its instantly yours.
Make sure you have shipping charges agreed to also.

They will have a small fee for listing the item with the BuyItNow amount but It would be worth it to you...

The only other option would take a bit of good faith and trust on your part.
You could use paypal to send them the money making sure to list out the items you are sending money for, including shipping charges and any details that would be important to your deal... Yes they could just take your $$ but at least you would have a record of the transaction...

Maybe having them email or snail mail you an invoice for the item then paypal the $$ to them. You can also use Western Union Bidpay to send a money order to someone...

Sorry about all the options..
the BuyItNow would be your safest bet...

If this guy has the fixtures, why not have him send you a paypal invoice with the details and then pay him that way? If you have agreed on a price this is a very secure way to do it.

Yes, I agree, I do most of my online purchases using Paypal if possible.

I have not had any problems with any deals to date....

Why not just buy one from an online vendor and avoid all those eBay hassles?

You can get a brand spanking new PFO 150w pendant with lamp, remote ballast and pendant for $180.95: http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_...ant.asp?CartId=

PFO HQI Mini Pendant Complete System - includes bulb, remote ballast and pendant. Fully wired. When only the best will do. This is true European technology. Double ended bulbs have been considered the best of the best for many years.

Anodized aluminum housing, UV shielded glass, Parabolic Reflector. Mount either into existing canopy or pendent mount from two eye hooks. Dimensions: 12" x 7.5" x 4.5"

PF15PBD PFO 150W HQI Mini Pendant - includes 150W 10000K double ended HQI bulb $180.95

Here are some more pendant options at another vendor: http://www.reeftanklighting.com/shop...ide%2BPendants

So what is this guy selling on eBay? Is it a brand new pendant? With ballast? With lamp (bulb)? How much is your total cost with shipping? Is there a really big difference that would justify the hassle of going through eBay instead of a conventional source?
