this is the clam i'm planing to get. i want to know more infomation on how to take care of them. i been doing alot of research about them through this site and others but still not sure what i really need. what food, chemical and so on............ thank you this site is my bible hahahah just playin

Good that you are doing some research before purchasing your clams.

A good book to start with is Daniel Knop's book, "Giant Clams".

You picked two beautiful clams that demand high intensity lighting. Excellent water quality is a must and M.H.'s are ideal.The wattage will depend on the depth of your tank.Although they do filter feed,they primarily strive on high output lighting and the symbiotic relationship with the algae provided. Clams at the 3' + size will not require direct feeding and additives are not directly used.
