I'm pretty sure he is too young for beer.

I would go for the sump simply because it adds volume and makes things easier to get in your tank because it gives you some extra room.

Assuming you already have a sump, i'd get the sump pump and the overflow. What size is this tank again? Probably shouldnt' need to get a too big of a pump.

its a 30gal, and the sump is a 10gal. i was kinda leaning towards the ro/do filter so then i wouldnt have to keep running back and forth to the store. and the LR would really look good, but i think in the order i wanted it was, ro/di filter, sump pump/overflow, LR. but a lot of people have been telling me to get the sump pump/overflow. i guess i will go with that, since i already have the sump, then piping, and everything planned out.

For a $100 you might be able to get both your pump and overflow... Or at least your pump and then have money left over to use towards the O-flow!

Check E-bay for overflow boxes, get a pump and get that sump running. Ameka Aquatics has CPR factory seconds O-flow boxes, but I bet you could find one on e-bay. You'll be pumped to have that thing running and completed. It'll be one less thing you'll have to worry about getting done later, plus it'll be a great addition to the appearance of the tank.
