Hi petercheeze, Welcome to Reefland!
A calcium reactor is a nice piece of equipment and can make the task of maintaining appropriate calcium and alkalinity levels easy, but it is not necessary. There are 2 part additives available that do just as good of a job, although they do require daily additions and it can take a bit of time to get the Ca and Alk balanced and determine what is the appropriate dosage of each part to maintain the desired levels. I use Ocean Blend: http://www.reefland.com/ads/adclick....nsblend.com%2F There are also others available such as ESV B-Ionic and Kent. Scott Z. |
