Need a little help?

I'm a newbie so I really don't know much. Could someone give me a step by step break down on building a cheap refugium. I'm running a 25 gal. tank with about 1" lsb and 40lbs of live rock. I would like to be able to put the skimmer heater and all in the fuge. Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for a home for your heater and skimmer you would be better served by adding a sump. A skimmer usually requires a high volume of water flow to be effective. Maybe you could go with a sump/ref. combo below your tank. But you do not want to put your skimmer and heater in your ref. They would kill much of your life (pods) without a doubt.

Just my .02

your limited on space i too had a 25g (2ft by 12in wide) and the overflow box took up alot of real state so before buying all these items look into a larger tank
of set on a 25 i would say do a sump to hide skimmer / heater below and maybe add a hang on fuge. gravity feed fuge is always ideal

refugium

Go to Ebay and do a search for refugiums i bought a 18x12x5 for $ 36:00 all you have to do is add a small rio pump and assemble. I bought miracle mud and a few bio balls for mine added some calurpa and it works great.
