Talking The secret of your photo

Hi...

I have 100gallon fish and SPS tank and XM20K (250w) and 2 VHOs (super actinic)
I wanna take a picture of my tank...but XM and VHO lights are so blue..
I have seen your photo in reefland and They are great picture in spite of 20K MH....From your pictures, I can not feel the deep blue color

I have a sony cybershot 707 model...

what is your secret? ^^ could you show me your 20K tanks?

Here is a link to a thread I started today regarding 20k's:
10k vs. 20k DE Comparison Shots

I would question the use of actinic bulbs in conjunction with the 20k's. It surely won't hurt but the extra blue seems like it would be overpowering.

Anyhow, for the pictures in that thread above, I used a Kodak CX4200 with no flash and there are no adjustments made to the picture at all.

I was just thinking that 20k bulbs running in conjunction with actinic supplements would be too much blue??

There are no lenses that I used and I did not use a coffee filter for the white balance; and never have. For more information on the use of a coffee filter, you should ask zhenya or Poseidon.

Thank you Scott... How about AquaSun or White instead Super Actinic?
What is the best VHO conjunction with 20K? NO VHO?

Dear Zhenya and Poseidon...
Could you tell me your secret? ^^

I would think that the Actinic White would look better; or should I say be less blue. If however you are pleased with the coloration of the tank, leave it as is.

Hi 7thheaven,

Here's a must read thread for the white balance adjustments. However, even with that coffe filter trick, I had terrible time taking pics of the tank when it was lit with 20K bulbs
