I am thinking about adding lawnmower blenny to my tank. I heard about great personality of this fish and great hair algae appetite people admire it for...

One thing I am affraid to is miss-id this fish in LFS. Are they any characteristic details I can look at to not make a mistake buying a different fish? I have seen eyelash blenny on www.reeftopia.com and the picture is so similar I bet would never recognise which is which if I saw them both in one tank in LFS...

Anyway - should I be worrying at all? Maybe all these fish have same great appetite for hair algae and the exact species is not very important? Will eyelash work as a "mower" on my live rock "lawn" as well??

p.s. have anybody seen these fish in Chcago area?

Lawnmower blenny, eyelash blenny and jewelled blenny are just a few of the many confusing common names for Salarias fasciatus: http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/Spec...name=fasciatus If you are going to place an order with Reeftopia anyway, just ask them where they got this fish. It is not found in their area, so they must be importing them if they are selling Salarias fasciatus, unless there is a similar fish found in the Florida Keys but I don't think so.
