And Another Question....Polyps

Just a quick question. Bought some yellow polyps but now they're green. My lfs says they are just adjusting to the new tank as I just put them in ten minutes ago and that this is normal. I don't trust em and sortof think that they gave me the wrong rock. Are they telling me this truth and is this normal? Also on the subject of coral I picked up a frogspawn and a seaclone skimmer while I was out. Started dosing calcium and water is good anything else I need to do to keep these such as placement in tank etc. I might have wasted some money today being stupid and impulse buying but I hope not.

This is not uncommon. What kind of lighting does your LFS keep them under? I assume MH. Are you running MH as well? If so, a possibility is you run different bulbs which would make the polyps appearance look different. It certainly is possible you were given something different than you expected. I suggest to watch the employee closely while bagging your livestock.

Did you just start dosing calcium today? what are your water permeters?

The impulse buy that was the mistake is the Seaclone skimmer. They are not recommended due to their ineffiency. Sure they;re cheap but nearly everything is that isn't worth a hoot.

It's not a very good skimmer but it should be adequate for a 20-gal tank.
