Angry EMERGENCY!! Rock fell on Green Frogspawn

I know it's kind of late. For some reason, I went to feed my two bubble tip anemones some shrimp tonight and when I moved my hand out of the tank water, I knocked off a rock off the upper top.

Well, it dropped RIGHT on top of the green frogspawn I thought there was no damage because the polyps were still out, but upon closer inspection, one of the five branches (their skeleton fingers) are BROKEN

The rock had apparently torn off one side of the skeleton. Now, what Im seeing is the other 4 skeletons are fine, but this one. The broken part is still attached but it is stretching out the green frogspawn, because its still attached.

I'm lost. I don't want to lose the entire frogspawn. If one stalk dies, will the other 4 start dying? I'm assuming no, but how do I make sure the one that is injured is fine?

Or is this the end of my green frogspawn?? I will update early tomorrow morning.

Thanks and regards,
Ilham

Did it split on the crown of the stalk of the base? If the base, I would go ahead and break it off. If it is on the crown (below the coral polyp) I'd let it be and see if it will split itself the rest of the way.

Scott,

Okay, I took a further look at it with a flashlight. Right now i know for sure that i cracked and broke a diagonal slice on the top portion. This means.....if i can explain it better.....is that I still see flowing polyps, but the piece that's broken off is still stuck and hanging because of the polyps im guessing. It is stretched, but I dont' think that part will make it through.

I'm going to leave it be and see what happens. I'm sure in the wild, things like this happen, and im hoping it can recover.

I'm wondering, do each of the "skeleton fingers" depend on each other? Or are they independent, meaning if one dies, will the others die, or if one dies, only that particular part dies??

I still cant' believe I knocked the rock over.

Regards,
Ilham
