Starting, what do i need?

Okay so i've been doing some research and i'm curious if these would be fine for a 75 gallon aquarium... for a lsit of what to get:
Fluval 304
Undergravel filter with power heads
protein skimmer
instant ocean sea salt
ph and alkalinity booster
hydrometer
SW test kit
Substrate

I'm curious to what else i would need to buy before starting a SW aquarium? Also do i need a trickle filter and a sump? and how much lighting do i need if i want a reef aquarium? and also what substrate is best, should i mix different kinds?

Well, I would ditch the Fluval 304 unless you plan on running Carbon only in it and plan on changing the carbon regurally. You can get rid of the UGF as well. Go with a good amount of Live Rock and you will not need either the 304 or the UGF. The LR will provide adaquate filtration.

By all means get a good skimmer, hydrometer, and test kits. You may be thinking that you want a fish only tank right now but trust me the Reef bug will hit you soon enough!

For a substrate, avoud Crushed Coral. If you can get it Southdown Play Sand (sold at East Coast Home Depot's) is great and cheap. Do a search on DSB and/or Southdown on this forum as well as Reefcentral and see what you come up with.

Jope all works out well,
RB
