Snails mourning??

Hi... This is a little odd, and I feel silly just for thinking it, but ... Well, yesterday I noticed my snails weren't moving much, but I didn't worry too much about it. Well, today, same thing..
So, after a few hours with the lights on full, and they still weren't moving, I figured something must be wrong with the water or something.. First thing, I picked up each snail to see if it was alive... 4 out of 5 of my mexican turbos responded normally when I did this.... The fifth was in fact dead (which I actually wasn't sure of until now) ...
Anyway, I took the dead snail out of the tank, and now the others are all behaving normally again. Is this business as usual? I've never had a snail die before, so I don't have any idea (other than my own observations) of what their 'normal' behaviors are.
Since they are all behaving normal again, and the fish and corals were never affected, I have ruled out a water problem (other than the simple fact of a dead thing, of course)..... but, is it normal?

All of my hermit crabs are still just tiny... the largest is probably about 1/3 the size of the mexican turbos...

I'm not actually worried about the snails, as I said, they are behaving completely normally now... But while the dead one was in the tank, they were all basically holding still. As soon as I removed the dead one, everything went back to normal.

I was just wondering if that sort of thing is normal .... I do keep a close watch on my critters, checking on them at least 15 times a day (and that's probably a conservative estimate, lol) ... So when I don't see any movement from 5 snails in over a 30-hour period, I'm definitely thinking something's odd. But for them to suddenly be fully active within moments of me removing the dead one.. THAT was kinda wierd, even for me.
