I just did the first KH test on my nano reef today and the KH reading was 300 (what ever that means, it is as high as the test kit will go) Is this good? is this reason for me to be happy and kick back a few in celebration?

KH should be between like 8 and 12 .

I try to keep mine around 11, I think you must have read the kit wrong......you sure it wasn't a calcium kit ![]() |

humm, my kit only goes up to 300 ppm, and yes it is a KH kit. It isnt speficly desgined for salt water i dont think but it has a table on it for salt water testing. Guess i have to get another one. Andy

If you reading ~300 then your looking at the ALK in ppm. KH is the same but measured differently. If your reading 300ppm for ALK, you are high. Check out this reference chart for the different readings/conversions.
